wTVision Powers World Cup Coverage Across Countries

Every four years, the World Cup becomes more than a football tournament. It becomes a global rhythm. For one month, millions of viewers across time zones organize their days around matches and moments that will be replayed for years. Behind what viewers see on screen, there is a complex production ecosystem working in real time. Studios, control rooms, channel centers, creative teams and technical operations all need to move together.

For the 2026 World Cup, wTVision is powering several broadcast operations, helping connect the intensity of the tournament with the screens where audiences follow it every day. Across different countries, the company is contributing to live production, virtual studio environments, AR graphics, interactive analysis, channel operations and technical infrastructure, helping broadcasters deliver more dynamic, informative and engaging coverage.

Building a Daily World Cup Production Environment for LiveModeTV

In Portugal, wTVision is contributing to LiveModeTV with a complete production workflow designed for the pace of a tournament that never really stops. The operation starts with the reception and management of multiple incoming signals, including match feeds via satellite and fiber, as well as other contributions from mobile journalism kits and ENG (electronic news gathering) sources.

These signals are used to produce a full daily World Cup program with pre-match, match and post-match segments. wTVision coordinates ingest of selected signals, oversees the network infrastructure behind the production environment, provides technical PCR support and uses Studio CG for video playout, alongside third-party systems integrated to meet specific production needs.

The production is based at wTVision’s facilities and combines different environments tailored to each stage of the broadcast. The pre-match show is produced in a chroma studio featuring a virtual set created for the tournament, while match commentary takes place in an auditorium converted into a dedicated narration studio. Depending on the editorial requirements of the day, the post-match segment can be produced from either location, allowing the team to adapt the workflow to the rhythm of the competition.

Running since the start of the tournament, after a preparation phase that began in May, the project showcases wTVision’s ability to deliver and operate complex live production workflows where content, technology and operational flexibility must work seamlessly together.

Virtual Studios and AR Graphics for DAZN’s Coverage in Italy

wTVision is enhancing DAZN’s viewer experience through a combination of graphics workflows, augmented reality, and virtual studio environments designed to bring more depth, context and flexibility to live football storytelling.

wTVision’s work with DAZN Italy builds on the virtual studio ecosystem created at the NVP Innovation Hub. For the World Cup, this environment has been expanded with two new virtual scenarios developed specifically for the tournament: one for the OddsChecker program and another dedicated to World Cup coverage.

The World Cup scenario was designed as a 360-degree virtual environment, giving DAZN Italy greater flexibility across different programming formats. One part of the set is used for the morning program, while three additional areas support the evening show, allowing the same visual world to adapt to different editorial moments throughout the day without losing continuity.

Adding AR-Driven Insights for SPORT TV Portugal

In Portugal, wTVision is enhancing SPORT TV’s tournament coverage with augmented reality graphics designed to bring match data and tactical analysis into the studio environment.

The project is built in Studio CG, with AR graphics rendered in Unreal Engine and connected to SportRadar as the data provider. This integration allows SPORT TV to access and present a wide range of tournament information on air, including match results, upcoming fixtures, group results and top scorers.

The AR workflow also supports tactical presentation, allowing presenters to display the team setup with 11 players and explore how one team, or both teams in comparison, are organized on the pitch. This creates a more visual and contextual way to explain tactical structures and team positioning for viewers.

By turning live data and tactical information into AR-driven studio visuals, the solution gives SPORT TV a more immediate and engaging way to explain how the tournament is evolving, from match results to team strategy.

From Channel Operations to On-Air Promotion for ZAP

In Angola, wTVision’s work with ZAP and its ZSports Channels builds on a long-running operational partnership that has been in place since 2015. Since then, wTVision has supported the broadcaster with MCR services and channel operations, as well as post-production services for the broadcaster’s autopromos.

For the World Cup, the operation includes the capture of signals and feeds via satellite and IP, ensuring access to live match content throughout the tournament. From there, the channels are broadcast from wTVision’s playout center in Lisbon and operated by its MCR specialists. ZAP uses ChannelMaker as its playout automation software, supported by wTVision’s infrastructure and software ecosystem, including MAM and MediaTools.

To complement the live broadcast, wTVision also provides personalized commentary services, helping ZAP deliver a viewing experience tailored to its audience.

For studio programming, particularly match analysis and tournament updates, wTVision is supplying its touchscreen solution. Through an interactive interface, presenters can access live match statistics, rankings and match details, making it easier to present data and analysis in a clear and engaging way.

The World Cup has also brought a dedicated autopromos effort to the existing post-production workflow. Throughout the tournament, wTVision is producing more than 50 original promos, with ZAP selecting the most relevant matches of the day and wTVision developing the creative concept, writing the copy and producing each promo from start to finish.

Turning Complex Workflows Into Connected Viewing Experiences

Across these projects, wTVision is working with broadcasters through different components of the World Cup production chain, from live program production and studio storytelling to AR graphics, interactive screens, signal management, channel operations and promo production.

The tournament may be defined by what happens on the pitch, but the viewing experience depends on everything built around it: the anticipation before kick-off, the analysis after the final whistle, the highlights, the live data, and the technical infrastructure that keeps every moment connected.

From studio to screen, the 2026 World Cup shows how wTVision’s technology and teams help broadcasters deliver engaging coverage when the world is watching.
